Chapter 2

Our school Neptune High showcase a sneak preview for those exceptional students whose grade average held an 80 or better. The preview took place during 3rd period. It just happened to be my lucky day because I hadn't done my homework the night before.

I sat next to my friend Huey. We had the same history class for 3rd period with Ms. Redding our teacher. This one time while Ms. Redding was absent from the class room. Rumor has it she was called to the principles office for unknown reasons.. (if you catch a drift). Huey was kind of a teacher's pet. Always asking for extra help after class. During the time Ms. Redding was away from the class Huey grew impatient. He jumped on his desk. Then he ripped off his shirt like a mad man and started winging it over his head. Huey must've forgotten to take his medication. That was his explanation for all of his sudden outburst. I actually joined in, taking my shirt off but I didn’t stand on my desk. I felt like if I jumped on my desk, that would be doing the most. Instead I joined the rest of the class laughing at Huey's shenanigans.

When Ms. Redding returned, my shirt was already on but I couldn't say the same for Huey. Ms. Redding's face turn rosy red. Blushing confused she uttered the words, "Um just what do you think your doing?" Luckily she didn't get mad. She smiled, telling us to pay attention. She spoke in a stern sincere tone. Any normal teacher would have given him detention but Ms. Redding was one of the nicer teachers. This one time she gave me a case for my IPhone but jealousy struck Serenity because she stole it. And never gave it back.

We sat, laughing and making jokes until Serenity appeared on stage. She was the final scene. The room went silent.., there she was… a Vietnam nurse whom lost her husband due to the war. She had just returned home from her tour. With the click of her hills, she ran into an old friend. I wasn't really paying close attention, being distracted by my peers. I turned my head for a second, and when I looked back it happened….

A kiss from a pale faced, no lip having white boy that swim in his free time. With the crowd left in awe.., heads turn.., facing my direction.

Looking to see my reaction…
